The ‘Aurora’ Haskap (Lonicera caerulea ‘Aurora’), also called haskap, is a very hardy fruit shrub, known for its large, elongated dark blue fruits, with a sweet and slightly tart flavor. It is appreciated for its abundant and regular production, as well as for the taste quality of its berries.

Harvest occurs early in the season, usually late June to early July in Quebec, before blueberries. The fruits are excellent fresh, in jams, smoothies, or pastries.

It develops into a vigorous shrub with an upright and well-branched habit, ideal for the vegetable garden or a fruit hedge.

⚠️ Haskap requires another compatible variety to ensure good pollination and optimal harvesting (e.g., ‘Borealis’, ‘Indigo Gem’, ‘Honeybee’, etc.).

Haskap is very hardy (zone 2-3) and adapts to most well-drained soils, in full sun to light partial shade.

Spring flowers are visited by pollinators, especially bees.
