Senecio mikanioides, also known as Cape Ivy, is a trailing plant with glossy dark green foliage, appreciated for its flexible habit and fast growth.
Its triangular leaves resemble those of ivy, but the plant has a finer texture and a very elegant cascading effect in containers.
Cultivated as an annual in Quebec, it is ideal for hanging baskets, planters, and large mixed containers, where it acts as a structuring trailing plant.
It prefers full sun to partial shade, in well-drained soil. It tolerates heat well and requires moderate watering.
